At Tailwinds Psychology, we believe therapy should be both effective and human. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or parenting stress, our therapists meet you where you are with compassion, consideration, and clinical expertise.
We provide both in-person and teletherapy sessions for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Our approach is rooted in evidence-based treatment, adapted for real life.
No two people are alike, so no two therapy journeys should be either. At Tailwinds, we take the time to understand your unique experiences, values, and goals. Together, we’ll create a dynamic treatment plan that makes sense for you in theory and in practice.
We draw from a range of proven approaches, including:
Access mental wellness in comfort and convenience.

Proven techniques to reclaim your life after trauma.

Your therapist will tailor their approach to your needs, while keeping you informed, supported, and empowered throughout the process.
We work with kids and teens facing challenges like anxiety, mood issues, social struggles, academic pressure, or behavioral concerns. We include parents throughout the process and offer guidance on how to support your child with confidence.
Whether you’re struggling with mental health symptoms, adjusting to a life change, or seeking personal growth, we offer a space to reflect, regroup, and move forward.
We help couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and navigate transitions. Family sessions are available to improve understanding and restore balance in the home.
At Tailwinds, we believe clients deserve therapists who are fully present, well-supported, and deeply invested in their work. That’s why we’ve built a practice where clinicians are valued, not exploited.
We offer:
When your therapist is supported, you get the best of them. That’s good care for everyone.
We know how important it is to find the right therapist. If for any reason we’re not the right match, we’ll help connect you with someone who is. That’s part of our commitment to ethical, client-centered care.
At Tailwinds Psychology, our clients are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re taking your first step toward therapy, seeking testing for clarity, or need medication support, we’re here to make the process feel easy, human, and hopeful.
We understand that mental health doesn’t exist in isolation — it touches children, teens, adults, parents, and couples alike. That’s why our care is designed for the whole crew, not just the individual.
From compassionate clinicians to clear communication and actionable reports, we’re redefining what thoughtful, respectful care looks like. Our goal is simple: to help you feel better, think clearer, and live fuller.
Starting therapy can bring up all kinds of questions. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after a break, this page is here to offer answers, reassurance, and a sense of what working with a Tailwinds therapist is really like.
Therapy is a collaborative process where you meet with a trained professional to better understand yourself, manage emotions, build healthier relationships, and navigate life’s challenges. At Tailwinds, therapy is more than just talking: it’s a structured and evidence-based process designed to help you grow, heal, and move forward.
We work with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
Some of the common concerns we help with include:
You don’t need to have a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If something in your life feels stuck, therapy can help.
Sessions usually last about 50-55 minutes. During your first visit, your therapist will ask about your goals, background, and what brought you in. Over time, sessions may include:
– Exploring patterns in thinking, emotions, or relationships
– Building new skills and tools
– Processing difficult or unresolved experiences
– Clarifying goals and values
– Practicing new ways of coping, communicating, or responding
Therapy is always tailored to you: your story, your goals, your pace.
Most clients start with weekly sessions, especially at the beginning. Depending on your needs and preferences, you might eventually meet less frequently or move to maintenance sessions over time. Your therapist will work with you to find a rhythm that feels right.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific issue, while others stay longer for deeper personal growth. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is working for you, and to adjust your treatment plan if needed.
Tailwinds therapists are trained in a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
You can learn more about each of these on our Therapy at Tailwinds page or ask your therapist which methods they draw from.
Yes! We offer therapy for children, adolescents, parents, and families. Our clinicians are trained to work developmentally, meaning your child won’t be treated like a small adult. We also involve caregivers when appropriate and always prioritize the therapeutic relationship.
Therapists are here to guide, support, and challenge you. You’re the expert in your own life. We’ll help you see things more clearly and make decisions that align with your values and goals.
The relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in effective treatment. If something doesn’t feel like a good fit, we encourage you to speak up. We’ll help connect you with another clinician at Tailwinds or refer out, if needed. Our priority is that you feel supported and understood.
Yes. Everything you share in therapy stays private, with a few legally-required exceptions (such as safety concerns). We’ll review these policies with you when you schedule and at your first session. We are always happy to answer questions about confidentiality.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask you to notify us at least 2 business days (i.e., Monday-Friday) in advance. Individual and group therapy cancellations made less than 2 business days in advance, or no-shows, will incur a cancellation fee equal to the full self-pay cost of the missed session. Missed appointment or late cancellation fees cannot be billed to insurance, and are the sole responsibility of the client. This policy respects the time of our clinical experts and other clients seeking care.
You can schedule your first session in just a few minutes using our online scheduling portal. No phone tag, no intake forms that disappear into the void. If you’re not sure what kind of therapy you need, just book a general intake and we’ll guide you from there.
We’re here when you’re ready. Schedule online or reach out with questions and take the first step toward something better.
