Tailwinds Psychology is a growing group mental wellness practice serving individuals and families throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. Our mission is to provide responsive, high-quality, and evidence-based psychological and psychiatric care with a team-oriented and values-driven approach. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team and help us meet the rising demand for psychiatric services in our community.
We are hiring part-time PMHNPs to provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services for patients across the lifespan. The PMHNP will work in close collaboration with our therapy and testing teams, ensuring patients receive coordinated and compassionate care. Part-time PMHNPs have full flexibility in setting their hours and caseload with robust administrative support, including scheduling, billing, credentialing, AI-enabled automated documentation (with patient consent), and marketing, so they can focus on patient care.
Hybrid and remote work options and flexible scheduling available. No on-call availability required.
Part-time counseling PMHNPs are compensated per billable clinical hour — that is, the time billed to the patient or insurance provider. Compensation is based on license type, licensure status, and tenure with the practice.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
At Tailwinds, we respect and defend the legal right of patients to choose their mental healthcare provider, including the decision to follow their PMHNP to a new practice. All new clinical hires who bring a caseload with them are eligible to receive a one-time bonus of $50 per established patient.
Tailwinds respects and affirms the ability of fully licensed psychiatric providers to provide high-quality psychiatric services and treatment according to their training and style. That’s why we include a professional autonomy clause in each of our contracts in which we legally commit to NEVER micromanage our psychiatric providers’ approach to psychiatry, patient communication, or documentation.
At Tailwinds, we believe psychiatric providers should control their careers, and patients should control their care. Contracts that force departing psychiatric providers to practice beyond a certain “radius” restrict access to mental wellness for local patients who wish to continue to work with their provider, many of whom belong to protected patient populations such as veterans and first responders. When it comes to mental healthcare, non-compete clauses aren’t just unethical; they’re illegal and unenforceable under Illinois law.
Tailwinds prides itself on the value it creates for patients and isn’t afraid of healthy competition. That’s why we don’t include non-compete clauses in any of our contracts.
