Tailwinds Psychology is a growing private group psychology practice serving individuals and families throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. Our mission is to provide responsive, high-quality, and evidence-based mental health care with a team-oriented and values-driven approach. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate counseling clinician to join our team and help us meet the rising demand for therapy services in our community.
We are hiring part-time counseling clinicians to provide individual, couples, group, and/or family therapy to a diverse outpatient population. Clinicians have full flexibility in setting their hours and caseload with robust administrative support, including scheduling, billing, credentialling, AI-enabled automated documentation (with client consent), and marketing, so clinicians can focus on client care.
Part-time counseling clinician are compensated per billable clinical hour — that is, the time billed to the client or insurance provider. Compensation is based on license type, licensure status, and tenure with the practice.
LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT:
At Tailwinds, we respect and defend the legal right of clients to choose their mental healthcare provider, including the decision to follow their counselor to a new practice. All new clinical hires who bring a caseload with them are eligible to receive a one-time bonus of $50 per established client.
Tailwinds respects and affirms the ability of fully licensed counseling clinicians to provide high-quality treatment according to their training and style. That’s why we include a professional autonomy clause in each of our contracts in which we legally commit to NEVER micromanage our clinicians’ approach to treatment, client communication, or clinical documentation.
At Tailwinds, we believe clinicians should control their careers, and clients should control their care. Contracts that force departing clinicians to practice beyond a certain “radius” restrict access to mental wellness for local clients who wish to continue to work with their clinician, many of whom belong to protected client populations such as veterans and first responders. When it comes to mental healthcare, non-compete clauses aren’t just unethical; they’re illegal and unenforceable under Illinois law.
Tailwinds prides itself on the value it creates for clients and isn’t afraid of healthy competition. That’s why we don’t include non-compete clauses in any of our contracts.
